Toy Soldiers: Complete Update #3
We've just pushed the third update to Toy Soldiers: Complete and are already working on the next update!
Patch Notes:
- Hid the "Turn" hud icons on artillery turrets when in the Weapons Case (because the firing arc restriction on artillery turrets is removed in the Weapons Case).
- Fixed the missing sounds for the commandos in the Survival maps
- Fixed bug in splitscreen mode where positional audio would only use one player’s listener position
- Changed art to new keyboard icon set
- Mouse driven RTS cursor is now restricted to a camera blocker if one is enabled
- Fixed some barrages to get the real duration of a barrage instead of a hardcoded 20 seconds.
- Fixed permanent black screen after the end of game commando movie on the credits.
- Fixed an issue which may have been related to a crash on the frontend after returning from the end of game credits.
- Change to GUI texture formats so that it uses better texture filtering methods for if the display resolution is different to the source texture size. Improves quality of UI texture edges at higher resolutions (as it’s not longer just point sampling)
-
Changes to make the single player game run at vsync framerate. Networked multiplayer still runs at 30fps fixed time delta. Misc fixes for hardcoded 30fps math that could affect gameplay. This means that, in fullscreen:
- With VSync disabled, the game will run as fast as your PC can run the game
- With VSync set enabled the game will run at 60fps, if your PC can sustain 60fps. It will then drop to 45fps, 30fps, 20fps – or whatever your PC can sustain
- VSync has no effect if you’re running in a window, so it’ll just be rendering as fast as your PC can.
Now that those fixes are in the game, here is a little preview of what we're working on next!
- Original Toy Soldiers content - we're looking to get this in the game ASAP!
- Multiplayer desync issues
- Mouse wheel support for scrolling through various vertical menu options
- Fixes so that the Versus modes "Offensive Wave List" menu can now be cancelled by right clicking the mouse.
- Fixes so that the “Sell Turret” confirmation dialog can now be cancelled by right clicking the mouse.
- Changes so that when using keyboard and mouse, only highlight build sites when the mouse is hovering over one. When using gamepad, highlight all valid build sites when the placement menu or a ghost turret is active. (TS2 style).
- Fixes so that the game should work correctly in Steam offline mode
- Changes so that the Brightness control is disabled when running in a window (as it has no effect)
- Fix so that “Press <Enter> to skip" at the start of survival levels now works
- Changes to "Reset Profile" option so it is a "Reset Game Progress" option. Settings for gamepad, audio, brightness etc are preserved through the reset. Each of those options can already be separately returned to default on their respective settings screens
- Fixes for an issue where the mouse cursor visibility would get out of sync with the restrict mouse cursor setting when returning to the title screen instead of from bootup.
- Fixes for input disabled if the player accepted a game invite externally (eg a Steam friend message window) to the game while on the title screen.
- Fixes to the “Exit vehicle” text display to show the correct control.
