The Lead Artist at Signal Studios is expected to help manage, define, and maintain the visuals of our projects within the constraints of the technology. The ideal candidate has a broad set of artistic skills as well as experience managing creative teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of artists
- Create schedules and task breakdowns for production
- Provide productive feedback to junior artists
- Communicate regularly with the Creative Director and Project Manager regarding the status of the artistic assets in the project
- Pro-actively provide technical solutions to visual problems
- Mentor and share advanced knowledge of game production processes
- Maintain the visual quality of the project
- Create 2D and 3D assets that define the quality work for all other artists on the team
Qualifications:
- Have at least 2 shipped titles, 1 shipped title as Lead Artist
- 5 years experience in game development
- An excellent and broad range of 3D and 2D artistic abilities
- Strong Maya and Photoshop skills, as well as a broad understanding of Zbrush, Studio Max, and other commonly used game production software
- Strong knowledge of the most effective game production processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter with common sense
