Overview:

Everyone has creative input at Signal Studios; as a designer, your job is to help shape that collaborative vision into compelling, well-designed games that understand and follow a free to play model. Game Designers at Signal Studios work at every level from high concept through low-level implementation, iterating on systems, story, gameplay and lots of level design.

The ideal candidate has thrived in creative, team-oriented, deadline-driven environments and is comfortable wearing several hats to get the job done; flexibility, common sense and a good sense of humor are a must. Being an Designer at Signal Studios is a challenging and rewarding experience as you work with a team devoted to creating the best and most technically impressive games on the block.

A mid-level game designer at Signal Studios is expected to:

  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation
  • Create innovative multiplayer and single player experiences
  • Design and implement in-game messaging and HUD
  • Keep pace with the latest and greatest game releases and standards
  • Design and develop game levels from planning through full implementation
  • Script
  • Balance, polish, and tune. Balance, polish, and tune. Balance, polish, and tune
  • Design and implement free to play and normal gameplay systems
  • Create initial level block outs
  • Gracefully accept input and direction, while maintaining a strong vision themselves
  • Have at least 4 years experience, 2 shipped titles with one of them following a free to play model
  • Familiarity with 3D level editing tools and some knowledge of 3D software, such as Maya
